Welcome To Whispering Hills Homestead

In 2018, Carl and Julia moved to Underhill, Vermont on 10.74 acres overlooking Camel’s Hump. They reside with 7 rescue pups, 2 cats and multiple chickens and ducks! After raising their children, they traded city living for the country. They enjoy the peaceful life-style and small community of their sweet little town.

A little bit about Julia~

Hello! As a little girl, I have always had a passion to be around animals thanks to my father, and our extended family. We had dogs, ducks, turtles, snakes, fish, birds and mice. I had always wanted a cat, but my father was severely allergic. I was able to get my "cat fix" when visiting my grandparents, aunts and uncles!

After raising four children and having a career as a behavior interventionist and K/1 teacher, I decided to transition working with dogs: specifically, around nutrition, and behavior. My interest in canine nutrition began after losing 2 of our beloved dogs, Elina and Sam, within a year of each other. In 2016, we became fosters for a local rescue, Potter's Angels. While fostering, we foster failed with 5 of our rescues. I have had "hands on learning" with a pack of dogs! I practice a positive reinforcement approach in training.

I became a Reiki Practitioner for humans in 2019. In 2021, I decided to expand my Reiki education, and became a Reiki Practitioner for animals. What is Reiki? Reiki is a form of healing energy, and with having so many rescue dogs, I have found Reiki to be beneficial for our dogs, as well as ourselves. These experiences have influenced my continued education around the health, and wellness for both animals, and humans.

A little bit about Carl~

Hi there! Farmer Carl here! I enjoy the peace and quiet of country living, my gardens and our land. Caring for the chickens and ducks, tending to the berry (blueberries, blackberries and elderberries) bushes, and riding my tractor are just some of my favorite activities to do on our homestead. Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing our dogs playing in the fields! My plan is to retire in 5 years, or maybe even earlier. Being on our land, and tending to it fulltime is a life long dream of mine. I look forward to fulfilling my dream on Whispering Hills Homestead!

Our Vision~

Our future plans for Whispering Hills Homestead, LLC continues to grow! Along with launching our dog camp/boarding, and dog cookie business, we hope to add bees and goats to our little homestead. And of course, we enjoy digging in the dirt! Vegetables and flowers are Carl's specialties (as are the chickens and ducks!). He loves being in the garden, and creating beautiful areas for veggies and flowers to flourish. We will be growing our own pumpkins which will be used in our dog cookie recipe, Maggie’s Pumpkin Nut Butter (named after our first rescue pup, Miss Maggie Mae). We also plan to have a field of sunflowers in honor of my (Julia's) late father. As a little girl, I was always in awe of his sunflowers, and of his gardens! We look forward to treating other families with our fresh eggs, veggies, flowers and of course, your fur babies with our dog cookies!

DOG COOKIES

image_123986672 (1).JPG

We first became interested in canine nutrition after two of our beloved dogs, Elina and Sam passed away within in a year of each other. The following year, our sweet chocolate lab, Jazmine, became sick and could no longer digest kibble. After much frustration, we began making homemade dog food for Jazzy, and cookies for both our dogs, and foster dogs whom we fostered with Potter's Angels Rescue. During this time, Rescue Pup Cookies was born-crafting healthy cookies for all dogs using minimal ingredients and lots of love.

Maggie's Pumpkin Nut Butter is a soft homemade cookie excellent for training, and for dogs that have difficulty chewing.

Our cookies are vaccum sealed for freshness. Once opened, they must be kept in the refrigerator or freezer. No preservatives or byproducts in our cookies!

We only have one recipe, but we have several others in the works!
